Cognex Corporation (
NASDAQ: CGNX) today announced that on
Thursday,
December 10, 2015, Cognex's Board of Directors voted unanimously to add
Dr.
Gene Banucci to Cognex's board.
Banucci was the Founder and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
of ATMI, Inc., a publicly-traded company that supplied specialty
materials used in advanced high-technology manufacturing. ATMI was
acquired by Entegris, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENTG) in 2014.
From 2003 through 2010, Banucci served as a Director of Zygo
Corporation, a publicly-traded company that was acquired by AMETEK, Inc.
(NYSE: AME) in 2014. ZYGO is a leading provider of optical metrology
solutions, high precision optics, and optical assemblies for use in a
wide range of scientific, industrial and medical applications. AMETEK is
a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and
electro-mechanical devices.
Banucci currently serves on the board of directors of Clean Harbors,
Inc. (NYSE: CLH) as well as the boards of two private companies, EOS
Climate and Cambrios Technologies Corporation.
