Corporation (NASDAQ: CGNX) announced today that a
U.S. District
Court jury has decided in favor of
Cognex in the company's patent
infringement lawsuit against both
Microscan Systems, Inc. and
Microscan's development and manufacturing partner,
The Code Corporation.
The lawsuit filed by
Cognex alleged that Microscan's Mobile Hawk
handheld imager infringed U.S. Patent No. 7,874,487, held by
Cognex.
The jury's verdict found that Microscan willfully infringed the patent
and awarded Cognex its lost profits. The case was tried in United States
District Court for the Southern District of New York before U.S.
District Judge, the Honorable Jed S. Rakoff.
